Tzvika Shahak

I was born on a farm. After high school, I enlisted into the Israeli Navy. During the Yom Kippur War, in Egypt, I commanded two boats under fire and later was awarded a Medal of Honor. I married Ayelet, a teacher. We had 3 children.  In 1996, our eldest, Bat-Chen, went to celebrate her 15th birthday in Tel Aviv.  A terrorist attack ended her life—on her birthday.
Bat-Chen left behind diaries expressing her legacy for peace. They have been published in 8 languages, including English.
I decided that instead of being a soldier at war, to fight with words and not with bullets.
We established an Association in which we further Bat-Chen's legacy for peace and her love for writing.  We work as Educators for Peace among student, teachers and families.
